It’s been a week in Leh, Ladakh! After a a 20 hour bus ride finally arrived at this super remote but beautiful place on 3700 meter altitude. Took the first days do explore the city itself and get used to the high altitude.
Rented a scooter for 10 days and started to explore the whole area of Ladakh. There are so many ancient Buddhist monasteries around that i took 2 days to visit all of them and take in the old structures, amazing art anf statues.
Also drove to one of the highest salt water lakes in the world called Pangong lake. Took about 7 hours to reach there by scooter, going over a 5400 meter pass and a lot of drift road. It was not an easy journey but once you get to the lake its all worth it. An incredibly blue lake surrounded by snowy mountains and incredible stars at night. And yes, its very cold to swim in it but it sure wakes you up after 7 hours on a scooter.
Now back Leh for a day or two to rest and to prepare for the next 3 day scooter journey to Nubia valley.もっと詳しく
旅行者Ja, crazy und cool: auf jeden Fall. Und dazu noch unwahrscheinlich liebenswürdig. Nehme mal an, dass der Pangong noch ein gutes Stück kälter als die Nahe ist.
旅行者Not only driving over a 5400 meter pass…by scooter! but also taking a cold bath in the lake. Crazy and cool
