    Invergordon cycling

    We met with our cycling guides George and Nico who gave us helmets and a safety brief before we disembarked and grabbed a bike. We were a mixed group of standard bikes and e-bikes, and the threat of hills loomed large in the distance. We'd been warned of a steady incline for much of the ride so we steeled ourselves and began the journey on our standard bikes. The first section was relative flat along the coast before heading inland and uphill. The scenery of tree-pocked hillsides, purple heather and forested roads was beautiful. The hills did need a bit of work but we managed it stoically...! The latter half of the trip descended back to the coastal road and we cycled back to the ship along the shoreline, through the very sleepy town of Invergordon.Read more
