Dardanelle Straits

A lovely bottle of Tassajara cabernet sauvignon to start the evening, before a fabulous dinner in the Wake. Ben had the bone marrow and steak again, but all the food was lovely, albeit I couldn't finish my polenta. During the meal we got the clearance to enter the Straits. Given that the Straits are only 1.2km wide, during the main course we could see the wildfires from our table - the size of the fires was astounding. Further along, we passed the two castles for which the Straits are named, and were treated to an incredibly large moon on the horizon from our balcony. A later dock in Istanbul tomorrow due to the delay but we planned to start the day later anyway due to all the excursions leaving.Leer más
