Taksim Square and the New City

I wanted to see the historic trams, so we grabbed the funicular up to Taksim Square, after some minor faff trying to work out the ticketing process. We were lucky to see a tram almost as soon as we arrived! The tracks run through a major shopping street in the new city, so we followed them and popped into a few shops on the way, before grabbing a beer. On the way out, a tram was just departing back to Taksim Square, so we jumped on board for the five stops that made up the length of the line.
