    Archaeological Museum of Rhodes

    17 août, Grèce ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Circling back towards the Street of the Knights of Rhodes, we stopped into the Archaeological Museum - a fantastic stop for €10. It houses lots of archaeological remains from across Rhodes and is deceptively large. Little side rooms house pottery, bronze, small statues, and more, whilst the courtyard holds funerary plinths and large statues. Some of the pottery was so intricate and so tiny, including an amphorae only just bigger than my thumb! The museum cafe also had an excellent selection of beer! By the time we left, the shops were well and truly open, and the streets were thronging with tourists and cafes offering beer in welly-shaped glasses. Although we headed back to the ship, Ben and I did nip out a second time to visit a shop that was sadly shut. However, it was fascinating that little streets just metres away from main tourist routes were absolutely devoid of people - lovely! Now, time to relax before Ben does 10 miles on the treadmill to continue his Great North Run training.En savoir plus
