Santorini and a Volcano

We'd booked a tender for 09.15, so after breakfast we packed our kit and headed down. The stop included cable car tickets from the old port up to Fira, which our last cruise here didn't and saved us 600 steps up the hillside. Fira town isn't much to write home about - shops and bars similar to other Greek islands. So we headed back down the cable car to see if tickets on the 11.00 Volcano and Hot Springs tour was available on the portside. Just in time, we hopped on the boat a few minutes before it departed for Nea Kameni island in the middle of the crescent that forms Santorini. We walked up the slopes to the various caldera on the island under a beating sun and 30° heat - it was SO hot. But it was well worth the effort. Czytaj więcej
