The Amazon rainforest is one of the most terrifying places I have ever been. An undercurrent of low grade panic is nearly constant. What a juxtaposition. I cannot imagine hiking, sleeping, living out here. I love my mosquito net, home cooked meals, and flushing toilets! I am grateful for both the beauty and the fear and give endless respect to those who explore more deeply!
Today it’s bullets points because I need to sleep.
- morning bird watching on the canopy.
- butterfly net checking and release
- data collection on our second treefall
- a visit to the shamin
- a river cruise where we saw a three toed sloth.
- a night cruise where we saw many things I won’t share.
Tomorrow: tree fall three. A newly fallen tree to collect baseline data
