    Onwards to Shoalhaven

    We left home at a reasonable time and headed south after a quick coffee stop for Hubby. We "mosied" along the road with a quick rest stop at Kiama to stretch our legs.

    We arrived after 12:30pm to stay with my daughter Nat, Aiden and the doggo, Frankie. Frankie was happy with his gift i.e. Nat's old flamingo toy.

    We had a chill lunch
    at the Husky Pub with views out across the water and enjoyed a hot, cloudless summer's day at its finest. It was lovely to have a break from the recent rain. We walked around the Huskisson shops and then headed to Murray's Beach.

    Being a former learn to swim teacher, Murray's Beach is a quiet, sheltered from the wind place where kids can to learn to swim and an amazing spot to visit with lovely white sands. I was thoroughly impressed with such a beautiful beach and a great retreat from the world.

    After returning back to Nat and Aiden's home,
    I crashed for 2 hours in the afternoon due to a giant rush of vitamin D and allergy overload. I have serious allergies with all furry animals which upsets me greatly but it is what it is.

    Nat and Hubby ordered home delivered pizza for dinner. We then watched "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" after dinner on TV, then we crashed for the night. Aiden was working shift, so we wouldn't see him until tomorrow morning.    Leggi altro

    St Georges Basin & Beyond

    This morning we had a 1 hour walk around St Georges Basin i.e. "Basin Walk" and it was quiet and calm with a few fisherman and fisherwomen. We gave Nat time to calm her dog Frankie as he is still a puppy at home whilst we were out doing the walk.

    Nat's partner Aiden joined us at 10am after doing night shift and we all travelled to Tomolong Markets. It was a small market and Nat and Aiden found some interesting antiques which could be used as planters e.g. a pair of little ceramic boots.

    Next we had lunch at the Flamin Galah Brewery and Hubby imbibed some light ales and beers in a stainless steel taster setting in the shape of a Galah.

    Next we headed into town for Hubby to buy some gifts for his family overseas and a sliced sour dough loaf ready to use for Sunday breakfast.

    Next on our travels was the famous Hyams Beach however it wasn't at its best today due to overcast clouds and a strong sea breeze. I am sure in full sunlight the famous white sands would be blinding.

    We chilled for the afternoon then treated ourselves to takeaway Thai food. Nearby the Thai food place was the local Woolies, where we bought some bacon to add to tomorrow morning's breakfast.    Leggi altro

    Shoalhaven to Home

    We had a cruisey drive home on a very hot day. We made good time getting home in 3 hours 10 mins with only a short stop for a fuel topup. Hubby drove all the way after insisting he was okay, so i wasn't surprised he took a long nap after a lengthy drive. I always appreciate Hubby for driving us home however, I am always willing to drive if needed.

    It is nice to be home however I didn't appreciate the heat we encountered and I certainly missed the coastal winds we had just left behind. Time was made for unpacking, starting the inevitable washing of clothes and we settled for a chill night in.    Leggi altro
