    Arrived at Burradoo

    9 giugno 2023, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

I left home after 10am and headed for Mittagong. At Mittagong I took photos of local tourist activities and I grabbed a freebie book which was a good magazine showcasing the Southern Highlands.

I then headed to Berrima for lunch and enjoyed a walk including browsing in the local shops and I bought a red woollen beret. I had lunch at the local bakery/Cafe and enjoyed some lovely chicken meatballs with peanut satay sauce and salad. I was rather "hangry" by that time and it really tasted good.

My next stop was Bowral however parking without local knowledge proved stressful so I headed for Bowral Lookout at Mt Gibralter. It was cold with light rain however gave me a chance to walk and get out of the car for a while.

I then decided to find my accommodation along Moss Vale road and it took a bit of time because I didn't have a passenger to spot for me.

I eventually found the property and stopped in a side street to wait for a code to open the key lock box upon arrival. I then realised I made a typo on my registration form for my mobile contact number and panicked they were sending a code to the incorrect mobile. I called the real estate agency and corrected my mistake and I eventually received the code. I promptly drove to the property and settled in for the night at my little studio away from home. I am looking forward to a lot of chillax this weekend.

  • Chillax - Day 1

    10 giugno 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

I slept badly due to an active possum named Charlie who lives on the property and weird knocks outside the accommodation including just outside the bedroom wall. I feel exhausted however I am soldiering on.

I am trying two new low fodmap recipes, potato 🥔 and leek soup and lemon 🍋 bars because that was part of my activities to explore whilst I am here. I have to remember I can do as little or as much as I want because sometimes I overplay and don't allow rest.

The soup ended up a fail because it didn't get cooked properly and tasted awful. The lemon bar is cooling and I hope it is salvageable.

Dinner was sheet pan nachos and this tasted great with Rosato wine. It feels good to have 1 success today.

  • Chillax - Day 2

    11 giugno 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

I had a better sleep last night even with Charlie running amok across the roof. A good sleep makes everything better.

I tackled three sewing repair jobs and I can now happily put them back in my wardrobe to wear another day. It felt good to be working at the sewing machine again and I need to work out how to fit this activity back into my life at home.

I have no aadventures with cooking today planned and last night's dinner is to last another two nights.

One more thing off the bucket list is taking a bath and watching TV at the same time. The bath had claw feet and the water was hot and soothing with complimentary bath salts. So soothing and a lovely way to end my day.

  • Chillax - Day 3

    12 giugno 2023, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

I had a leisurely breakfast then packed away some things into the car boot to reduce my workload for tomorrow morning and I took the chance to run the car because we have had some rather cold nights.

I went for a short walk around the neighbourhood and found homes on large pieces of land and gates with buzzers. Some homes were close to the street and others were hidden behind long driveways. I found acorns on the gate uprights and one home had two large impressive urns just before you parked near the front of the home. I have heard this area is wealthy however I haven't spotted a Bentley yet.

A lovely retreat to stay and recharge. If you are looking for a party this place isn't for you. I have included some pics of my accommodation. One view from the back garden and one from the front.

  • Going Home

    13 giugno 2023, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Heading home is always mixed feelings for me. On one hand I was just getting used to where I was. On the other hand I knew this break had to end and I was happy about returning home.

The drive home was safe with no psycho truckie however I had a weird on the motorway tail gating me whilst I was doing 80km however he discovered what the accelerator was and overtook just as I was looking for a turn off to shake him off my trail.

I had a comfort and stretch stop at Glenbrook and was home just before 11am. I thanked the car for getting me home without issues and opened the door to a quiet home. I took my time returning the cold food and groceries back to where they should be and then thought about what to do for lunch. It's good to be home. 🏡
