R & R in Kelso

After a hectic week packing, cleaning and moving down to Lochmaben, we had a few days R & R at Ednam House Hotel in Kelso with Mum & Dad. Lovely hotel and we had the top floor of the orangery in the hotel grounds on the banks of the river Tweed. The Abbey dating from 1128 was a short walk from the hotel. Etal Snowdrops

After a bite to eat in the Lavender Tearoom we walked up to Etal Castle which like most attractions was closed. However, we were amazed at the snowdrops carpeting the ground, never seen so many !! Great flight and after clearing immigration and customs we’re now at the hotel. On the bus here we saw trees lining the road laden with blossom, spring is here !! Enjoying Happy Hour drinks and food at the hotel and looking forward to a good nights sleep before picking up the Coach and Jeep tomorrow. Name of our plane says it all and sums up the last 13 years of planning and working towards our goal !!En savoir plus

Caravan of approx 20 coaches and had a police escort out of Moultrie, first time we’ve gone through red lights on purpose !!!
Back up I-75 to Perry and the Georgia National Fairgrounds for the FMCA Rally. Parked on the grass with electric hookup, no water so had to fill our tank. Union Jack flag up do we can find our coach in the sea of coaches!!

After the Rally were spending a few days catching up on washing (laundry), shopping and general maintenance. We’re parked under huge trees with Spanish Moss hanging from the branches, looks atmospheric but it’s windy and leaves, moss and bits of tree are falling on the Coach and car. Bella Terra RV Resort - Foley, AL

Arrived yesterday and it was blowing a hooley and a chilly 58F. This is a new resort and parts are still being built. We’re in a prime spot overlooking the lake with a fountain and yes the wind’s blowing straight at us and we can feel the spray. It is lovely though and Stew’s in his element watching the birds, ducks and ducklings, red winged blackbird, grackles, doves, cardinals and more. Shopping day today and picked up our renewal tags for the Coach at the post office down in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, could not believe how heavy the traffic was. Publix had mixed sushi trays, so dinner sorted.En savoir plus
