Camp for the night at the Falls car park, white noise of the falls meant the robins were singing louder. Torrent upstream and calm downstream, dark peaty water probably where the name came from. Great walk the next morning down one side and up the other through old Scots pine forest.Read more
Great drive on single track road down Glen Nevis. Hiked up Nevis Gorge to Steall Falls (120m high - 390ft). Rivers in spate and waterfalls everywhere rushing down the mountains, one positive for all the rain we’ve had recently.Read more
Neptune’s Staircase is a series of 8 locks on the Caledonian Canal at Banavie just north of Fort William. Walked up the west side of the canal, went under the canal though a tunnel and back down the east side. Great views of the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis.Read more
Great views of Rum, Eigg and Skye from the car park near the harbour in Mallaig. Jacobite Steam train aka Hogwarts Express puffed its way back to Fort William. Entertainment for the evening was a group of 3 German Scouts setting up camp in front of us. Fish supper from Jazzy’s too good to photograph.Read more
