28th October Dubai

We had a full day private tour of Dubai today, we saw both the old & new sides of the city. Drove around the Palm Jumeirah where all the rich & famous are, stopped at the Museum of the Future. We had tickets to the Dubai Frame & Jeff even walked on the glass floor 50 floors in the air. Went to Burj Khalifa to the 125th floor for amazing views & horrendous crowds. Our guide then took us through the old town to see how the houses were made especially with no air conditioning & then across the creek to the spice & gold souks stopping to sample the date chocolates & the camel milk tea. All the while we had a fantastic insight into how Dubai has evolved in just 30 years including the life for the people both immigrants & the original citizens of the country, & the status symbols of cars & number plates. Was really a fantastic day. Got back to the hotel in time to change & get a taxi to The Tap House at the Dubai Mall where we had dinner reservations sitting out on the terrace to watch the fountain show which was outstanding & we were able to watch 3 shows including the light show on the Burj Khalifa before heading back to the hotel.もっと詳しく
