  • Boxing Our Stuff, Again

    July 5, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

It’s been 6 eventful months exploring our new home here in Victoria BC. We rented a fully furnished and equipped apartment with everything including sheets, towels, pots, and dishes. We needed a fraction of our stuff. We love it.

We weren’t sure we would, so we only committed through July 15th. So we have to box up all our things for storage for the seven weeks we will be traveling. Our wonderful landlords are letting us keep our belongings downstairs in their unfinished third apartment gratis. We mutually decided we would come back in September and stay at least through December 2020.

After three purges of stuff in the last two years and trying to use up our nearly endless stockpiles of soaps, lotions and other consumables, our volume has radically diminished. I have also gotten rid of tons of clothes. I don’t need much in the way of work clothes and I have pledged to donate anything I haven’t worn in two years. Makes packing up less time consuming.

We have one more week before we head out on the first leg of our trip - camping in Strathcona Park here on Vancouver Island.
