• Day 2 - At sea

    November 3, 2024, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ 🌬 15 °C

A day at Sea today as we sail south down past France. A grey and dull day weather wise, not freezing but not shorts weather.

Can’t really say what time we got up this morning, both mine and Sharon’s phone times reported different times and still do, although we’ve managed all day. As we’ve been at sea it’s been a busy day doing nothing really. The cruise is called “The Good Food Cruise”. With that comes some celebrity chefs on board. John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are the main attraction and today they did a couple of talks in the princess theatre. Sharon went to one, I did a bit of work before the laptop died. The theatre was very busy and they were very popular. The boss bought the book and later on we went down and got it signed. They were very down to earth people and were very chatty.

We’ve not really done much more today except wander round the ship, eat, drink and actually relax. We did amble up to the hot tub on the open decks for the film that I was reliably informed (by my director of operations- aka the boss) at 7pm. Misinformed sadly and it started at 7.30. Fast X was the film, it was the latest fast and furious, we managed about an hour but got a bit bored, the special effects although very good were very unrealistic. It was Baltic getting out of the tub !! However once we’d dried off you could tell the temperature is on the increase. The mini bar has been stocked, no prizes for guessing whose drinks are who’s in the picture, and honestly, I do eat more than just cake !!!

Currently we’re about three quarters of the way across the Bay of Biscay and it’s remarkably calm. Still unsure if it’s 9.15pm or 10.15pm !! I’m hopeful of warmer temperatures tomorrow, I’ve got a £1 bet riding on it. I win if I’m in shorts - might have to pretend if it’s cold and suggest inside activities 😂😂
