This is where we will be living for the next 5-6 weeks! We left and headed to Deer Run campground in Cooperstown, NY. On the way we saw the Bennington Monument. We were not off the entrance ramp to I91 when someone asked "when are we going to be there?"!!!! This could be a long trip 😉Read more

  • Indiana and Circle B Campground

    June 24, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

We stayed at a very large campground. There were multiple parks for the kids to play at and it was on a lake. Circle B campground is located in Angola, Indiana. The kids had so much fun. There were many hang gliders that went over the campground. Josh even found a Texas holdem tournament to play in. Today was also a laundry day. Spaghetti for dinner. We were outside playing ball ⚾️and looked at the time and it was 9:30pm! It stayed light out until after 10 😊Read more

  • Travel Day

    June 25, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Josh went for his morning run. We took our time this am. Eggs and venison sausage for breakfast. Then back to the lake. The weather has been beautiful yesterday and today. It was a long travel day. We made it to Wisconsin. We saw a nice sunset. The kids have been great. It took a long time to get through Chicago. Jodi even got a chance to drive the RV in downtown Chicago, rush hour traffic. We stayed at a rest area tonight and back on the road tomorrow.Read more

  • Green Giant and Jellystone

    June 26, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Our goal was South Dakota today. On our way we had a pit stop at Blue Earth to see the green giant. It was nice driving and it amazed us how many wind turbines there are. Next we took a little detour to Iowa (just to say we have been there). Tonight we get to stay at Jellystone campground. It is much smaller than the last campground, but still has a lot to do. The kids love the pool and giant jumping pillow. Riann and Jodi had a blast playing tether ball. Josh made some new friends.Read more

  • Sioux Falls

    June 27, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 11 °C

The kids are back out on the air pillow, jumping with their new friends. We packed up around noon and headed into the city of Sioux Falls. While here we took a trolley ride, saw the falls, went to a free museum about WWI, and saw a smithfield factory. While walking in the city a pick up truck pulled over suddenly and a man, in a suit, asked if we were from Sioux falls. The kids were nervous. It turns out he is the Mayor of Sioux Falls and liked to say "hi" to families. He gave Josh his business card. Jodi of course looked it up on the internet to confirm. While walking back to Sioux Falls Park there is a sculpture walk. After a few hours there, back in the RV headed to Wall, SD.Read more

  • Traveling To Wall, SD

    June 27, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

After leaving Sioux Falls we drove to Wall. Here we saw Wall Drug (and about a hundred billboards along the way for it). However, on the way, there were dark clouds. When looking at the weather forecast, it was decided we would stop and wait out the storm. The forecast was for 70mph wind gust, quarter sized hail, and tornado possibilities. We found a cute little store where the owner was very nice and kept the kids entertained. All was good. We made it to Wall and the kids were tired. Homemade pie and ice cream for dinner. Drove another 10 miles and slept at a rest area.Read more

  • Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse

    June 28, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Off to Mount Rushmore. We were there before 7am. We had a nice little walk around the monument. Very interesting seeing how the rock was carved. Crazy Horse is equally as interesting. We didn't see an estimated finishing time for Crazy Horse. It will be MUCH larger than Mount Rushmore when finished. Actually, all 4 heads will fit into just the head of crazy horse!Read more

  • Fort Laramie

    June 29, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 11 °C

More laundry then on the road. We visited Fort Laramie. Josh and Jodi found this interesting as it was part of the Oregon trail and Pony Express. We had a quick lunch, then back on the road to another campground. We also made a stop at a spot called Hell's Half Acre. It is a random, nature made, canyon-like area amid miles of flat land.Read more

  • Sinks Canyon & Sacajawea

    June 30, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 8 °C

Today was a good day. Beautiful weather for a nice 3 mile hike in Sinks Canyon, Wyoming. We saw a beautiful waterfall. On our way to Dubois, we stopped at Sacajawea's grave. Then off to Dubois for the eve. We had a great dinner (with yummy pie for dessert) and then headed to a rodeo! Zak and Randi tried to get a ribbon off a calf's tail. It was very entertaining.Read more

  • Craters of the Moon

    July 3, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌫 19 °C

We visited the remnants of a volcano. It was cool. We climbed to the top of one of the cones and could see the Grand Tetons 100 miles away. Then we explored a couple of caves. The kids had a blast doing that (yes, all 5 of them)! One of the caves had plenty of skylight's. The other was pitch black at the end of it. After leaving there we headed to Twin Falls, Idaho. Here we went over the Perrine bridge. It was a long way down. After a long day of traveling and doing stuff, we made it to our campground and soaked in the hot spring fed pool for 3 hours. There were 2 diving boards and a water slide. The kids will sleep good tonight 😀Read more

  • Another Travel Day

    July 4, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

Today was a traveling day. We stopped at a campground in Nevada. It was HOT! Our bodies are not use to 100 degrees. The kids were happy that there was a pool. There was also a water balloon launching game that we all played. We met some nice people from southern California who gave us some tips for when we get to California. Riann and Rileigh had some good bonding time 😊Read more

  • More traveling

    July 4, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

The kids had one more bout with the water wars this am while laundry was being done. Then, back in the RV for a couple of hours. There happened to be an Olive Garden half way there, so we ate lunch at it. We made it to California 😁Not at the ocean yet. That will be to to tomorrow. We did unfortunately see a couple of wildfires. It is very sad to see how much land is destroyed by them :(Read more

  • Traveling to Las Vegas

    July 9, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 33 °C

Instead of going to Yosemeti (which Jodi read would be a 2-3 hour wait just to drive into the park because of heavy traffic and construction), it was decided we would drive straight to Vegas and spend two nights at Circus Circus because they have a RV park as part of the hotel. Not much for pictures. It was a very long day of driving. We made it around 7:30. Early enough to get set up and walk the strip (eventually). It was 110 degree and the kids were tired. They are very excited to play in the adventure park tomorrow (which is part of the hotel we are staying at).Read more

  • Las Vegas

    July 9, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 33 °C

Even after a late night, the kids were up early ready to go play at the adventure park. There were roller coasters and MANY other rides and games. The kids and Jodi stayed and played and Josh went to the casino. After a few hours we took a break and visited some family who live in Vegas. Back to the hotel and more playing. We ate too much at the buffet and then had our pictures taken in old time costumes. The kids thought that was fun. Another late night. It's a good thing it's summer vacation!Read more

  • Zion National Park

    July 11, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Today we went to Zion. We walked up the river and swam at a waterfall. Riann decided to walk in her sneakers, so they got quite wet. We walked a little ways up the narrows, but there was a threat of a storm, so we didn't want to get stuck in there. There were lots of deer and squirrels. On the way out Riliegh said "snake, snake, snake". There was a 2 foot long snake slithering across a side trail. Upon leaving Zion we had to drive through a 1.1 mile tunnel in the mountain! The tunnel is so narrow we needed to buy a pass so they could stop traffic and just let us through.Read more

  • Bryce Canyon

    July 11, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

Today we went to Bryce Canyon. It was hot, but AMAZING. We went for a 2.3 mile hike into the canyon. It was fun, but tiring. Everyone was happy to have lunch in the air conditioned RV and take a nap. After, we headed to Moab to spend the night. It was a much needed early night.Read more
