Went on a trip firstly to a waterfall Godafoss. Then we went to a house made of turf. only a handful left in Iceland but you can study turfing in school. Then we learnt about the Icelandic horses and saw them racing. The last stop was the botanic gardens.
Back on the ship we had a ceremony for crossing the Arctic circle. Beryl volunteered to be iced. Johnathan was Neptune. A lot of the staff and crew ended up in the pool. Then we sailed out of the Eyjafjordur . The longest fjord in Iceland. There were whales beside the ship.
Captain Davor announced an itinerary change and we would not visit Klaksvik in the Faroes because of high winds.

A very serious one in 2020 with several buildings demolished. I climbed up the art installation . it was very steep.
I went back into town and looked at the shops and church and colourful buildings.

Arrived late afternoon and I went out to wander round town that is the capital of the Faroes population about 20000. Total population of Faroes is about 55k. They are a satellite of Denmark but they have their own parliament and language. The old houses have turf roofs which last 40-50 years. They can be mown or get a sheep or goat to eat the grass. I walked up to the triangular church which was Lutheran. It was raining so I just wandered back through the old town.Læs mere
