Continental Divide II (?)

We were both super confused when hundreds of miles further along we passed another continental divide sign. What is going on? Divide means two parts, right? How can there be two divides and three sections?

We had to look it up-turns out we just passed through a large elevated desert basin between Rawlins and Rock Springs, where all the water collects and none runs out to the west or east (it all pools into ponds and evaporates). Because of this, the Continental Divide is considered to split into two sections and run around this basin. Weird!Read more
