    Salt mine...
Salt mine...Salt plain...Nev and me...we got "in trouble" shortly after this for being somewhere we shouldn't be...An extremely long train carrying iron ore, they go constantly, exporting mainly to China and Asia...See the bulldozer on top....scary...Rock of Ages- natural jetty...Esplanade Hotel - the town is very brown, no gutters or fascia on houses or buildings...We were here for the Spinifex Festival- view from our campsite at Turf club...It's tropical here! The Big Wheelbarrow...1km from Pretty Pools...we didn't go...Pretty Pools, tide is out a long way...see all the boats lined up...The temperature is finally above 20 degrees now, nice for a dip...A really chill vibe...at PH hotel...Loved the flamingo ceiling in female toilets...The men's had girls bums in shorts on ceiling, quite funky...Sunset, at Port Hedland Hotel...There are constant boats coming into port 24 hours per day, we counted up to 22 at any one time...What a cutie!

The biggest producer of iron ore and salt in the world, this industrial town does not stop.
Lucky they have the Port Hedland Hotel and Pretty Pools to facilitate some much needed rest and rejuvenation.Read more
