    Peak-hour on Cable Beach, 2 camel safaris and a stack of 4wd's...Reddell Beach at dusk...Pt. Gantheaume- aboriginal place of spiritual significance with a French connection and Aussie BraunAn Osprey....on the lighthouse...his nest is built there...Dusky dusk...Beagle Bay home of an 1800's catholic Church with an altar decorated ornately with pearl shell...One -arm Point, Cape Leveque, see the lemon sharks, apparently harmless but I did not venture in...We did the Cygnet Pearl Farm tour, so informative, the life cycle of the pearl is a sexy talePearl shells in their baskets, oysters spend up to 2 yrs or more here in their lifetime....The opening of the shell to reveal the pearl, beautiful in it's simplicity...60,000 dollars worth...Relaxing to a musical melody, enjoying a white pearl gin, part of the oyster gonad area is usedOriginal helmets worn by dep sea pearl divers, 80 kilos including suitsMain street Broome, had to look in here, no prices anywhere!!Oldest outdoor cinema in Australia, maim St BroomeJapanese Pearl Diver Cemetery, earliest Pearl divers were Japanese, strong Broome/Japan connection..Hug a Giant Boab Tree Day2Our cups are overflowing....

    Swept away by Broome( pun intended)

    I have always wanted to go to Broome and 'it' did not disappoint. Dazzled by pearls, burnt red rocks, streaky blue skies, snow-white sands and more wine-happy sunsets we fitted in as much as we could...from pearl farms to coastal, wind-in-my-hair drives, live music, sweat-inspiring parkrun, saucy seafood, and white-pearl gin, AND relished every moment of it!!!!
    The pearl shells born of the Indian Ocean floor also birthed the town of Broome in the 1800's. The pearls themselves came later. Since then, it has flourished into the vibrant, creative, multi-cultural tourist town it is today. We left today with 'our cups overflowing'.
