Pilgrim places

We started the Rhine tour at the Abbey of St. Hildegard of Bingen, beautifully placed on the hill in the vineyards. A great place to retreat and enjoy. 50 Benedictine sisters still live there and offer a diverse programme of retreats, hospitality, vines and the famous spelt products and of course her books. Never been there before, very special. We finished the day the the little pilgrim church Marienthal - valley of Mary. One of the oldest pilgrimage places in Germany, today still a small Franciscan community situated in the forest not far from the Rhine. I have spent some time there as a student. Czytaj więcej
