Vintgar Gorge

Vintgar Gorge is absolutely stunning… but also one of the most confusing visitor experiences I’ve had in a while 😄

We followed the GPS to a parking lot only to discover we needed tickets and a shuttle. Then we arrived at the gorge itself and found plenty of cars parked there anyway. Once inside, the canyon and turquoise water were breathtaking — completely worth the trip.

The only challenge: the trail descriptions could really use some clarification. The “easy meadow return walk” starts with a steep uphill climb that definitely caught us off guard. Still, despite the logistical confusion and sore legs, the gorge itself was incredible.Read more
