Harry Potter, Arancini & a Little Retail Therapy

By now it was getting late.

Much later than I had expected.

I looked at the map and reluctantly admitted defeat.

Borough Market would have to wait for another day.

Instead, I made my way to Leadenhall Market.

The moment I stepped inside, I understood why it had been chosen as one of the filming locations for the Harry Potter films.

What a beautiful place.

The ornate Victorian architecture, colourful ceiling and elegant walkways made it feel almost magical.

And finally…

Food.

I grabbed a couple of delicious arancini, washed them down with a refreshing Sicilian soda and happily accepted that this would be today’s late lunch.

Sometimes changing plans turns out just fine.

Only a short walk away stood the Royal Exchange.

Once London’s historic stock exchange, it has been transformed into one of the city’s most beautiful luxury shopping arcades.

Even if shopping isn’t your thing, the architecture alone makes it worth a visit.

Elegant stone columns surround a stylish central courtyard filled with cafés and restaurants.

As luck would have it, one of the cafés was exactly where I had planned to stop anyway.

They also happened to sell the cookies I wanted to bring home for Sanjay.

Two birds.

One stop.

With snacks enjoyed, gifts secured and my energy restored, I was ready for the final chapter of another unforgettable day exploring London.Read more
