    A journey of real contrasts: from pouring rain as we set out, no views because of low cloud, more Rain as we cross the divide at Hass Pass, waterfalls, then breezy sunshine along the coast.

    The west coast seems to be a rain forest, but of course, it’s got the glacial valleys, so there were many ups, downs, twists and turns over the last miles to Franz Joseph.

    We lost count of “one lane bridges”, but we were never held up.
