Oh Malta, what can I say? You are fun, but a bit (a lot) crazy. 🤣

After a long day, we arrived and immediately loved the feel of Malta. That was until the fireworks started. And didn't stop for the whole 4 days we were there, even during the day. Yes, during the day where it was just a bang with no fireworks. I've never seen, heard, or felt anything like it - it was actually terrifying. Sometimes, it was every 30 seconds. It felt like bombs were going off. And they let them off everywhere. Sometimes, it was right near you. We really didn't enjoy it.

We asked the locals about it, and they're used to it. It's part of them. They have celebrations/feasts all the time. And fireworks are part of their celebrations.

Here is an article on Malta's firework traditions -

We are now scared of loud noises. 🤣

On a normal note, some of the places we explored were Valletta, Mdina, Mosta, the Hypogeum, and Blue Grotto.

We loved the bright, enclosed balconies on many of the buildings. We were bemused by the dungeon museum that had realistic torture scenes with body parts chopped off and put in a wheelbarrow...with sound effects. 😮

We are leaving Malta with more issues than we started with. 🤣

However, we do recommend Malta if you wear ear plugs and don't go in summer. (And maybe not go to the dungeon) 😁
