Today we went to see our first set of ruins!! We went to Saqsaywaman which is an old Inca complex. The most impressive part is the size of the rocks and the way they were fitted perfectly with nothing holding them together, and that they have managed to survive at least 3 earthquakes when all other structures crumbled. The parts left standing today are all the stones Spanish colonizers couldn’t move when they took it apart to build their own structures. We also saw aplacas and went shopping. These scarves are absolutely a win! Perfect for when shorts weather isn’t actually shorts weather and you aren’t prepared for it to be just plain cold.Read more
