• Day 122 - Caracas

    August 31, 1974 in Venezuela

I got lost in the jungle of streets on the way to the Patrizzi family - it would help if the streets had name tags! But in the end, we did find the house.

Fortunately, the daughter was at home. She had spoken to her friends, who confirmed there was no road connecting Boa Vista to the South. OK, we have an unknown challenge waiting for us!

That evening we savored Minestrone and Lasagna at a hole-in-the-wall Italian Restaurant in the old part of Caracas. As we were leaving, another VW Bus pulled up, and we started a conversation. It was Robert and Raquel with their daughter Kika. They drove down from California last year and work here until they have enough money saved to continue to Chile, where Raquel is originally from.

They invited us to stay at their house. After two nights in Los Caobos Park without a shower and bathroom, we gladly accepted their offer.
