Day 383 - Magic Kingdom

On the way to Mickey Mouse and the Magic Kingdom, we could tune in to a radio station that gave us instructions on where to park. Genius!

From there, we took a quiet electric train to the main entrance, where we bought our admission tickets and eight tickets for the rides. Then we took an elegant monorail into the park.

Suddenly, we were in a completely different world, with pretty streets and colonial-style buildings. The staff in the shops were dressed to match the theme. There were lots of little shows to see, including Peter Pan, Mickey Mouse, and the Tiki Birds.

Everything was very well done, and many of the performances were completely automatic.

In Future Land, we went on a thrilling ride that blasted us through the darkness on a journey through space. That was amazing. I think I only breathed once and prayed the rails were fastened properly!

We had imagined the Disney characters walking around among the visitors, but that wasn’t really the case. The souvenir shops and restaurants, however, were doing very good business.

After walking more than usual, our feet were tired. We had thoroughly enjoyed the Disney experience, though, and were happy to relax by the pool at the Holiday Inn afterward.
