Botannical Gardens - San Antonio

The day started bright and early with breakfast at 7:45 AM at La Panadería Bakery Café, just a short stroll from our hotel. My milky coffee and almond croissant were the perfect wake-up call—exactly what I needed to get going!

After checking out of the hotel, we took a quick drive over to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. What a feast for the senses on this beautiful sunny day! The sheer variety of plants, shrubs, and flowers was breathtaking, and the well-maintained grounds made it a joy to explore. Everywhere we turned, nature put on a spectacular display, and we soaked it all in during our leisurely two-and-a-half-hour stroll.

By midday, it was time to say goodbye to the gardens and hello to BBQ! We met up with our son Andreas and his partner Nichole at Smoke Shack BBQ, a nearby spot that did not disappoint. The conversation flowed as easily as the barbecue sauce, and before we knew it, it was time to hit the road.

At 1:30 PM, we all parted ways, heading back to our respective homes in Garland, Keller, Colleyville, Fredericksburg, and Tyler.

This trip marked our 22nd Geezer Group event since 2014—proof that while we may be getting older, we’re still kicking, still laughing, and still making unforgettable memories together.Leia mais
