Port Adelaide

Awesome day at the Port Adelaide Maritime Museum. They had a ketch (small flat bottomed sailing ship) for the kids to play on and so many interactive exhibits.

Really loved the basement showing the different types of berths in ships through the ages that you could climb into and listen to accounts of real diaries from travellers from the Clipper ships to the first stream voyages, traveling from the UK to Australia!

Then we went to see one of the only 2 remaining Clipper ships left in the world; the 'City of Adelaide' (other one is the Cutty Sark) and had a guided tour to learn about the journey people took for 3 months as migrants moving from the UK to South Australia in the late 1800s.....Read more
