Parliament House - Darwin

A fantastic tour around Parliament House to learn about the NT, how it is governed and the way Parliament is conducted.

The kids spent their time in the library and were very well behaved according to the librarian!

The tour guide even offered to take the kids and I into the chamber for a private snoop as they weren't in session (she usually shows school groups around so why not the homeschool kids too!)

Fascinating to learn how similar the governing systems are to the UK and some of the historical and ceremonial aspects. The kids got to learn about the Maice and open the despatch boxes on the front table in front of Mr Speakers Chair!

We then made our way round the museum and watched a few short videos about Darwin throughout time, and then went for a walk over to the waterfront.En savoir plus
