Geraldton Foreshore & Sydney II Memorial

We drove along the foreshore to see the 'Big Marble'! The kids loved hiding behind and seeing the photos of themselves upside down!

Then we went to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial that honours the 634 men drowned when it was sunk in WWII by a German ship West of Shark Bay.

The dome was created by 634 steel sea gulls to honour the men that died, and in response to a flock of gulls that flew over the memorial site as it was opened.Read more
