Day 7. Arrived in Honolulu at 8 a.m.

My friend, Bev, whom I met when I was stationed here, met me at the pier and chauffeured me around for a nostalgic day. We went to her bowling alley at formerly Barbers Naval Air Station for a great breakfast and caught up on life. She took me up to my old home, and I saw that it's still standing and still has a beautiful view. We also went to Pearl Harbor Naval Station. She got me back to the ship in time to watch the Steelers game with Beth, Deb, and Trish at a bar on the waterfront. (Lousy game!) I loved riding around and seeing my old stomping grounds!Read more
