• Day 120. Greenwich, England.

    5–11 maj 2025, Anglia ⋅ ☁️ 50 °F

We're on the River Thames moored on a pontoon in Greenwich, just outside of London. We walked around the town and visited the old Naval College grounds. The Painted Hall was amazing. The ceiling was painted by Thornhill beginning in 1707 and took 19 years to complete. It was restored in 2013. They've had many official events in this hall. Admiral Lord Nelson laid in state here Jan  5-7, 1806. They moved Royal Navy College to Portsmouth in 1988.
We also visited the chapel that was rebuilt after a fire in 1779. There was also a Skittles court with 2 bowling lanes. Afterward, we walked up a very steep hill to tour the old Royal Observatory. Coincidently, we were there for the military flyover for VE day.
