Salvador

We had a port cancelled, as such Oceania added another day in Salvador. The first day, we joined Gloria and Tom for a taxi tour. Lucky for us, they speak Portugese. As we were leaving the port, we were handed a ribbon. Not knowing the meaning of the ribbon, we soon found out. Arriving at Basilica Santuario Senhor Do Bonfir, you could see ribbons tied to fence and also many other places in the church. They are placed for wishes. We were told that after six months, they would be taken down but soon replaced. We also visited a few other sites, including Forte de Monte Serrat. Our tour ended in the Upper Town. Returning to Lower Town and ship we took the Elevator. The Elevator was free for seniors, as many other services in Brazil are.
