Mt. Qingcheng

📍 Mount Qingcheng 🏞️—a journey through the roots of Taoism and nature’s serenity!
We had the chance to explore this sacred mountain, the **birthplace of Taoism**, where the philosopher **Zhang Ling** founded the doctrine of Chinese Taoism in 142 CE. The spiritual atmosphere here is unlike anywhere else, with lush green forests and mist-covered peaks that seem to transport you to another world 🌿.
The hike through **Mount Qingcheng** is filled with scenic paths, ancient temples, and breathtaking views. We took the **sky lift** 🚡, which offered panoramic views of the mountains and valleys below. From there, the hike continued up steps carved into the hillside, winding through serene landscapes and past peaceful streams. Along the way, we visited several Taoist temples, including the **Shangqing Temple**, which is said to be one of the most important on the mountain.
Did you know Mount Qingcheng is also a **UNESCO World Heritage Site**? It’s famous not only for its spiritual importance but also for its stunning natural beauty. The paths are lined with old trees and bamboo groves, and at every turn, there’s a new scenic spot to take in. The mountain’s mix of cultural heritage and natural wonders makes the experience truly unforgettable.
Many famous artists and scholars have found inspiration on these sacred slopes, including **Xu Beihong**, the renowned painter known for his horse paintings, and **Guo Moruo**, a poet and historian who praised the harmony and peace of Mount Qingcheng.
It was amazing to follow in the footsteps of Taoist scholars and immerse ourselves in the philosophy of "harmony with nature" while taking in the breathtaking scenery. 🌱
If you’re ever in Sichuan, don’t miss the chance to hike this historic and spiritual gem!
