We had an unforgettable dining experience at Macesz Bistro in Budapest’s historic Jewish Quarter. The evening began with expertly crafted cocktails, setting the perfect tone for the culinary delights that followed.

We indulged in both the Chef’s Menu and the Macesz Menu, along with additional selections of pork chops and steak. Here’s a glimpse into our delectable journey:

    🍴 Chef’s Menu Highlights:
    • Starter: Duck pâté with apricot chutney & homemade bread 🦆🍞
    • Soup: Rich matzo ball soup 🍲
    • Main: Beef tenderloin with potato gratin & red wine sauce 🥩🍷
    • Dessert: Flódni (a traditional Hungarian-Jewish layered cake) 🍰

    🍴 Macesz Menu Highlights:
    • Starter: Smoked trout tartare with beetroot purée 🐟
    • Soup: Creamy mushroom soup 🍄
    • Main: Crispy duck leg with red cabbage and potato dumplings 🦆🥔
    • Dessert: Chestnut mousse with chocolate crumble 🍫🌰

    🍴 Additional Highlights:
    • Pork Chops: Breaded pork chops served with creamy mashed potatoes 🐖🥔
    • Steak: Nádudvari rib-eye steak (200g) prepared as “hagymás rostélyos” (onion-crusted), accompanied by sautéed potatoes 🥩🍷

Each course was a harmonious blend of traditional Hungarian-Jewish flavors, meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. We left Macesz Bistro with our palates delighted and our hearts full, eager to return for another exceptional meal.

If you find yourself in Budapest, a visit to Macesz Bistro is an absolute must for an authentic and memorable dining experience.
