Europe, VERY last minute

  • London to Paris flight, painful

    Due to the strikes in France, our flight was delayed so we ended up having a light breakfast while waiting for the announcement of which gate we would have to board at. Fast forward another 2 hours and we are still sitting on the tarmac waiting for clearance to fly to Paris. Gotta say, this wasn't the most pleasant transit.   • First real taste of history and art

    Uber has been our preferred mode of transport apart from of course walking. Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower which was unfortunately closed due to the strikes. We got our photo op and took it in for what it was worth. Next stop was the magnificent Louvre Museum. I was in awe of the whole place as up until now, I have only seen it on TV. It was even better in real life and the collection of artwork and statues were out of this world. Artists back then were something to behold! The highlight for me was 'The Coronation'.Read more

  • The Latin Quarter by foot

    By now we were used to the cold and wet weather so we pressed on with our walking tour. The Latin Quarter tour was not our first option however we were pleasantly surprised by the culture and history of these streets. Our guide took us on a stroll through some very nice narrow streets explaining the architecture, the people who once lived here and showed us some of his favourite churches.Read more
