Mystic Seaport, Connecticut

We decided to take a break from driving and stay an extra day in the Mystic Seaport area. Jean spent the morning in Historic Downtown Mystic (From earlier in the trip the term "Historic Downtown" means shopping.) I spent the morning at the Mystic Seaport Museum where there are recreations of historic buildings, actual ship restorations in progress, maritime exhibits and hands on displays and a staff that will stop the project they are working on to answer questions. They are currently restoring the Mayflower ll. It is in dry-dock and a crew of about 10 are working at the actual ship with an estimated additional 20 people in various shops making replacement parts.
We both went to the Nautilus submarine exhibit. We toured the sub and spent time looking at the sub displays showing the history of the sub fleet.Baca lagi
