    October 18 in Wales ⛅ 11 °C

Back in the car, we eschewed a direct return south for a northerly loop up towards Brecon. With an eye on the waning daylight, but keen to make the most of our short time in the national park, we decided to stop for a short walk at the Bannau Brycheniog visitors centre.

The walk afforded a great view of the long exposed approach up to Pen-y-Fan, which I had used on my walk between Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon a few years pervious, and the weather was surprisingly warm for late October. We were able to take a look at a bronze age standing stone, and pick up some agricultural litter in Wa neatly contained 40 minute walk.

Our lightning visit also gave us the chance to get a lovely Welsh slate fridge magnet worked locally, who happened to be in the shop when we were there.
