• Where the Bear Roams and the Zebra Zooms

In the local news… because apparently Tennessee is now a wildlife reality show.

First, there’s a bear running around Gallatin. A real, live bear. Not the kind from a picnic basket cartoon—this one’s out there living its best life, probably wondering why every trash can in town has a padlock and why people keep pointing iPhones at it instead of just saying hello. This was a first for Gallatin.

Then—because the universe said “why stop at one escape artist?”—a zebra decided to make a break for it not far from here. A ZEBRA. Strutting down the road like it just missed the safari bus and refuses to assimilate.

At this point, we’re one escaped llama away from a full-blown country zoo parade. If you see a giraffe peeking over your fence or a flamingo doing laps in your kiddie pool, just go with it.

As for us? We’re keeping a bag of marshmallows and some carrots by the door—just in case our next visitor has paws or hooves.

(Side note: Sadly, the bear’s adventure ended after it was hit by a car. The zebra, however, is still at large and collecting sightings like a local celebrity.)
