Moto/Road-o-America Superbikes

Let's start with, are Brian and Zach's motorcycle road-racing 3-day WE's worthy of Finding even 1 Penguin 🐧? (Let's not ask Jomar, shall we not?) I say YES!

I started planning this potential 3-day WE and business trip "collision" about 7+ wks ago. I had several IR compressor and engine components mfr's in the Milwaukee (MKE) area to visit - and flexible timing. Let's take a look at the MotoAmerica (MA), 2025 calendar, as I/we have never been to the iconic road course of Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI before. So, in mind and managerial actions, I was 'off to the races'!

5-6 weeks of arduous, THE most of any of 4 global companies* 'begging, mother may I travel,... for YOU', I was approved (literally, from the CEO, ironically at our mother corporate HQ, in Milwaukee!). NOW you are seeing why this story needs Penguins 🐧 audience?!

Yet, to keep my/Zach's expenses to myself, I arranged our air tix together, @BWI @5AM in the TSA line - to get an early start on Friday. 1st day, Milwaukee tourism, before 2 days of MA @RA. I'm cheaper than any of those global co.'s, so it's 'Spirit' airlines for me.

That's where the problem began, and why we're home 🏡, me uploading std stock pics from MA and my Strava BWI-walk of confusion. We went down to my parents place in Balt/DC area, Thurs PM to be closer. On Fri AM, we still were up at 4AM! Our flight was canceled 15 min before boarding! Spirited to no help by Spirit, Emails rerouted 3x, on phone, driving back to my parents, to Reagan NAT/DCA airport, back to parents,... and now home! I'm sparing you of how we were given alt. flights, that were domino-effect both filled and canceled flights, until reimbursements were given - which wouldn't pay 1/4 of the now, last min., jacked-up fares*. YW.

Zach and my heads were spinning, on websites, phones, ...most of the day! On the way home, we picked up Frederick's Campanero & BO's chicken for us and our ladies. Then, I made my 5th arduous call ctr call, this time to cancel the WHOLE trip for us both (will take Mon-Wed mtgs from MS-teams! It's good to be "Home Schweet Home 🏡". -Brian

*- Of those 4 global co's, cutting travel is a quick knee-jerk reaction for $avings. How? I'd rather it were thru accommodations cost cutting. I've performed co. travel at lower costs than a 'professional' should. (Ex.: I've taken the bus vs. air at times and slept on my brother's couch for SA, TX based travel). No. Instead, they discourage travel at all by having approval signatures from upper mgmt. This time, CEO - no kidding! I was slamming agendas together in the last week and chided by an impersonal travel website for booking with less than 14 days' notice 🤯! So, most travel needs to be done, and we get delayed approvals, and our airfare prices double or triple! Now, I ask, how does that get the job done well, OR $ave $?!!Weiterlesen
