    Moonscape Skyline View

Spent a windy and dusty night on the edge of a very tall cliff. Didn’t let Moose off leash and couldn’t get good pictures cuz I was afraid to stand near the edge.

    Natural Bridges National Monument

The drive from Hanksville to Natural Bridges was beautiful but very remote. I found a great spot to camp for a few days right outside Natural Bridges amongst the pine and juniper trees. It smelled so good. I went into Natural Bridges National Monument but was not feeling well and barely had enough energy to get out of the car at the view points. The cold cloudy weather didn’t help much either. Despite that I enjoyed the beautiful of the park.

    Muley Point and Moki Dugway

The weather was terrible when I got to Muley Point so I opted to not stay the night and headed down the 10% grade of the Moki Dugway toward Valley of the Gods. This road has 29 hairpin turns and is impassable if your vehicle is longer than 25ft. It’s sort of a right of passage though in the vanlife community. Oppy did great but it was a challenge to document this crazy stretch of highway alone. As you can see it was cloudy and the wind was blowing pretty hard as well. I suggest googling Muley Point and the Moki Dugway to get a better sense of what it looks like. In person it was impressive despite the weather.

    Valley of the Gods

The bad weather (clouds and wind) continued as I entered Valley of the Gods. My gosh though this place is stunning. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. It is said to be a free, smaller and less travelled version of Monument Valley, which is often full of people and costs $20 to enter. I would have gone to Monument Valley as well but it was snowing when I was driving through so I passed it by. While at Valley of the Gods I was still under the weather which was fine because with 40 mph winds I wasn’t going out to do much of anything except snap a picture. Even Moose hunkered down. It’s quite an experience to be in a van with high winds like that. I’m just saying. The weather did provide some unique photographic opportunities though.

    Sick in Kanab, UT

We spent 5 days in Kanab, UT at an RV park because I was too sick to really do anything. It was nice to have a shower, laundry and a grocery store without having to think too much or go too far.

    Panquitch to Losee Canyon

I stooped for a night in Panguitch to pick up a few packages, and groceries before heading to Hiway 12 and Losee Canyon, (near Bryce Canyon NP). Inside my package from home was a sweet note from Yury ❤️. Made my day.

My stay at Losee Canyon is in my top ten places I’ve ever been. I am mesmerized by the orange rock formations as they contrast against the clear blue sky. There is something magical about this place for me. I took a lot of pictures but this group is just from the area in front and in back of where we are parked. I’ll do a separate post on the Arches Trail hike.

Losee Canyon is like a free and mini Arches National Park and there is no one here. It’s quiet and so peaceful. I love this place!

    Arches Trail in Losee Canyon

The Arches Trail hike in Losee Canyon is one of my top 10 hikes. I ended up doing this hike 2 times. The first time I hiked it I didn’t find the Arche so I had to hike it again and the second time I found it.

    Bryce Canyon

My mom would speak of Bryce Canyon often, she loved it so much. Now I know why. It’s hard to capture it on film but it is spectacular. I felt my mom’s spirit when I was there.

    Kodachrome State park

Not far from Bryce Canyon is the lessor know Kodachrome State Park. No crowds, no parking issues but stunning in a different way. I really liked this place. Did I mention no crowds. Utahs highway 12 is a must do if you come to Utah.
