• Goat herder family village visit- inside

    2019年9月29日, モンゴル ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

At 5pm we set off west to a local goat herder family for a “ village visit”.
Usually K and I particularly dislike this type of tourism but the next hour was actually v enjoyable.
After entering their main ger and moving in a clockwise direction to sit we were presented with bowls of boiled mares milk, followed by dried curd, mares milk cream and then fermented mares milk vodka!!
This family also bred racing horses so we were shown their 200yr old horse brand, bridle and fetters. They also had horse brush and a horse sweat scraper that were cherished items hung from the rafters of their ger.
The couple were so lovely as they continued to serve us before taking us outside to show how they milked their goats.
