2am start UB to Ulgii- Kazahk county

What a long but great day!
Sorry for the multiple posts but too many photos from today.
We were up at 2am, checked out of Ramada and got a 2.45 am pick up for the airport. Temperature -7C!!
We were first to check in for the 05.20am flight west to Ulgii for the Eagle Festival!!
Sadly the coffee shop hadn’t turned on the coffee machine but did serve us hot chocolates which woke us up.
The 3 hour flight went quickly as we napped for some of it but managed to stay awake as we flew over the snow covered Altai Mountains - stunning!!!
Ulgii is so close to the Kazahkstan border the clocks went back an hour.
It’s was still -7C when we landed but was a clear, crisp sunny am Into the town with a population of 29,000

We got dropped off at our brand new hotel and had “free time” until 12.30pm ( now only 8.30am) so we found Arvin cafe and all spent an hour or so there before exploring town.Baca selengkapnya
