• Skip gone and shed packed to the rafters

    After a quick breakfast it was time to head up to the recycle centre with load 1.
    Next we picked up the community trailer and before we could load it Douglas, the skip man turned up to pick up the skip and chest freezer. 30 v efficient mins later they were on their way.
    We then loaded the trailer with load 2 and just managed to unload with 5 mins to go before the recycle centre closed at 12pm.
    Dropping the trailer back, K and I decided to stop for lunch to prepare for an afternoon of shifting all the remaining timber and tin.
    Kate’s quote of “it won’t take all day” was blow out of the water when we finally finished at 4.35pm as I predicted!!
    Job done and v satisfying it was.
    Dinner was a repeat of last night of salmon, baked potatoes and left over cauliflower cheese bake.
    After dinner it was a v enlightening evening with Dugald and Sal in Moeraki where Dug gave us a v interesting interactive talk on climate change and what we need to consider to try to minimise the predicted temp rise in the next 80yrs- we both felt a bit guilty about our upcoming carbon laden travels!!
    Home at 10pm finished a long but pleasurable day.
