• Goodbye Moeraki - part 1

    February 25, 2020 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Woke up to a beautiful Moeraki day which always makes it harder to leave.
Luckily we started the day immediately with cleaning the crib from top to bottom including oven and windows.
Next it was a sad farewell to our lovely rings as we safely put them away in case we get robbed - already missing them!
We had a last quick walk on the beach ( after extricating a v coy Jess who had somehow managed to jump in the back of the truck and wouldn’t come out!!) . Realising i had been home for 5 weeks and only had one swim I was appalled at myself so I stripped down to my undies and in I went- it was heaven!!! Sadly time was against us as always but nonetheless it was worth a quick dip.
The truck was put away in the shed, bags packed into Mary’s car and at 12.30pm we left our little place, nearly thistle free!! A special Goodbye to Fizz who is really slowing down.
Down to Dunedin it was last minute sandal shopping for K with no success and then it was a sad farewell part 2 as Mary dropped us off for our 4.35pm Jetstar flight.
