Decided to walk to gardens. Perhaps not such a good idea. Took only about 35 to 40 minutes but all up hill! Now sitting in cafe with iced coffee and food. Temperatures are already rising towards 27 to 28 degrees.

This is a lovely area with education facilities for children, a maze, a squirrel and beautiful rooms of flowers and trees. The waterfall was not running more than a trickle,understandable with the dry, fine weather they have been having.Læs mere

Decided to go down to Granville Island. Temps today supposed to reach 30 degrees or exceed. It was already hot when I left hotel at 9. Wandered around for a few hours then back to hotel for a nap. Have late check out so at 1.30 set off to wander the streets. Would be lovely to go to waterfront and read but have to climb back up the hill. Decided too hot as I have to dress for New Zealand weather as well. Gone back to Banana Leaf Malaysian Restaurant for late lunch. Still have one and half hours to go. Would certainly recommend this place. Have yummy cocktails at reasonable prices,good service and nicely presented food.Læs mere

On the train at Waikanae. The start of our jouney south. Steve and Margaret collected me at 9.30 and Steve dropped us at the station. A quick call to Gill to demand a wave as we left. On train and it has started.Læs mere
