Sovereign Hill - What a day!

A beautiful but fresh morning, we went for a walk around Lake Esmond just behind the caravan park.
Then onto Sovereign Hill for the day.
Did the Red Hill Mine Tour first up and that was great.
Then later in the day watched a gold pouring
Demonstration where we were shown how they melted down and poured a 3kg boulion worth $250,000. This demo was fantastic.
Walked all over Sovereign Hill checking out all the displays which were just brilliant and so informative by the staff.
We ended the day with a 45 minute underground mine tour that went 100m deep showing how and where some of the original miners mined in Ballarat.Leggi altro
