    Dolphins at Gleesons Landing

    February 7, 2023, Indian Ocean ⋅ 🌬 22 °C

A bit of a south Easterly wind today so we headed back to the bottom of the peninsula. Gleeson's Landing looked like it would be a bit of a protected bay that was our pick.
It was another nice big bay that offered us a 5km return walk.
On the outward walk we had a pod of 4-5 dolphins swim about 50m off the shore for about 10 minutes. We thought that was great, but on the return there was about 9-10 dolphins that came in very close to shore, Rob waded out in the water and took some video footage, it was amazing, they were not fussed about Rob at all and one had a calf with her.
They hung around for ages tail slapping and having lots of fun. It was so cool.
Also found a Port Jackson shark egg casing on the beach.
After lunch on the beach we headed back to Berry Bay (but south end today) for a snorkel in the rock pools. Just a beautiful location and no other people around, so secluded and pretty.
