    Dunbrody Famine Ship

    This was such a moving experience. The famine tore family and cultures apart in Ireland. The rich British landlords actually paid to send these families to Canada and America so that the could bring in cows. Many, many died during the voyages. I couldn't imagine.
    Vera met us for lunch at the Cafe. We had pizza and a cider.
    I did not realize how many Irish helped establish America. Back when we valued hard work over the victim mentality. Walt Disney, Henry Ford...both 1st generation Irish immigrants. Andrew Jackson also. Kennedy'ss....etc.
